General Terms

All credit applications are subject to positive identification (ID document), a personal interview in store and providing a latest pay slip and/or bank statement. Credit applications are submitted to a Central Granting system. Credit applicants will be advised of the outcome of their credit application.

Thank you for visiting the Home Corp website (homecorp.africa) hereinafter referred to as “the HOME CORP website. Use of this website and the services provided via it, are conditional upon you accepting the following terms and conditions. Unless otherwise specified, your acceptance of this User Agreement shall be indicated by your use of and/or registration with homecorp.africa (hereinafter referred to as “the HOME CORP website”). The HOME CORP website and its services are provided by FURNMART situated at 13 Herman Road, Meadowdale, Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa.

These terms and conditions and our Privacy Policy, (together with the “User Agreement”) form our entire agreement with you in respect of non-chargeable use of the HOME CORP website and supersede any prior agreement or arrangement with you in respect of the HOME CORP website. If a company name is inserted in your registration request, then the User Agreement shall be between us and that company and accordingly unless the context otherwise requires, references to “you” and “your” in this User Agreement shall also be to that company. The purchase of goods/services from us is subject to our Terms and Conditions of Purchase. If there are any updates to this User Agreement or to the Terms and Conditions of Purchase, we will bring this to your attention on the home page of the HOME CORP website.

Availability of the HOME CORP website

We will endeavour to ensure that the HOME CORP website is available 24 hours per day without any interruptions. However, we reserve the right to make the HOME CORP website unavailable at any time or to restrict access to parts of or the entire HOME CORP website without notice. The HOME CORP website is a general information service.

This site, including the contents of the site, is provided on an “as is basis.” Users of this website do so at their own risk. We will endeavour to make it non-misleading, but we cannot guarantee that the information accessible on or via the HOME CORP website is accurate, non-misleading, complete or up to date. Product images, particularly colour, are likely to vary based on your computer’s monitor. Therefore we cannot guarantee that your monitor’s display of any colour will be accurate.

Use of the HOME CORP website is designed for your personal, non-commercial use and you may not use it in any other way without our consent. Except as permitted under applicable law, you must not use, copy, translate, publish, licence or sell any materials or information provided in the structure, overall style and program code of the HOME CORP website without our consent. You agree to only use the HOME CORP website for lawful purposes and that any information that you provide in connection with, or which forms part of, the HOME CORP website will be, as far as you are aware, true and accurate and will not infringe any copyright or trade mark, or any right of privacy, publicity or personality or any other right, whether registered or unregistered, of any other nature or any person, or be obscene or libellous or blasphemous or defamatory. You also agree to indemnify us against all claims, proceedings, damages, liabilities and costs, including legal costs arising out of your breach of this term. We cannot make any assurances about the information or contribution made by any other user and you should exercise caution before acting or otherwise relying upon any information you obtain via the HOME CORP website.

It is your responsibility to ensure that that you give us an accurate and valid e-mail address and other contact details and advise us if these details change however we cannot make any assurances about any other user you may meet using the homecorp.africa website

The HOME CORP website, its style and structure, and the materials and information on the HOME CORP website are protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights and may not be used by you, except as expressly provided in this User Agreement. The authors of the documents in the HOME CORP website assert their moral rights. The HOME CORP website and HOME CORP brand name are registered trademarks of HOME CORP.

Since a substantial part of the HOME CORP website is both free and available to all, it is a condition that your use of the HOME CORP website is at your own risk. We shall not be liable to you or in breach of this User Agreement for any delay or failure to perform any obligation, if the delay or failure is due to a cause beyond our reasonable control, including without limitation, the blocking or restricting of information to and/or from our network. Except as expressly provided in this User Agreement, we disclaim any further representations, warranties, conditions or other terms, expressed or implied, by statute, collaterally or otherwise, including but not limited to, implied warranties, conditions or other terms of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose or reasonable care and skill. Save as provided below, we disclaim all and will not be liable in contract, delicit (including, without limitation, negligence) or otherwise arising in connection with this User Agreement or the use of the HOME CORP website for: (i) consequential, indirect or special loss or damage; or (ii) any loss of goodwill or reputation; or (iii) any economic losses (including loss of revenues, profits, contracts, business or anticipated savings), in each case, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such loss or damage and howsoever incurred. Our maximum liability to you in contract, tort (including, without limitation, negligence) or otherwise arising in connection with this User Agreement or the use of the HOME CORP website shall be limited. Notwithstanding any other provision of this User Agreement, we will be liable to you without limit for any death or personal injury caused by our negligence and to the extent that liability arises and for liability arising from statements made fraudulently by us.

Either of us may terminate this User Agreement at any time. You may not transfer any of your rights or delegate any of your obligations under this User Agreement without our prior written consent. If we fail to enforce any provision of this User Agreement, that failure will not preclude us from enforcing either that provision (or any similar provision) on a later occasion. Nothing in this User Agreement shall confer on any third party, any benefit or the right to enforce any term of the User Agreement. This User Agreement is governed by South African law and any dispute connected with this agreement is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts. Nothing in this User Agreement affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

If you believe that your intellectual property or other rights are being infringed by the use of the HOME CORP website, or if you are dissatisfied with the HOME CORP website or any aspect of our service, in the first instance, please contact us at webmaster@homecorp.africa.

To successfully complete any order or purchase the customer will be required to register online. To register you will be required to provide certain personal information which is protected by our privacy policy. As part of the registration process you will be required to provide an email address and password, which will be used as your user log in details. Please keep your password private as HOME CORP accepts no liability for any damages suffered or losses incurred from the use or misuse of your account.

You will be required to either submit your date of birth or national identification number during the registration. The purpose of this is to confirm that you are over the age of 18 years old, which is a requirement to purchase from the website.

By purchasing/ordering goods or services on this website you are confirming the following;

  • you are over the age of 18 years old,
  • you are authorized to make payment and that there are sufficient funds in the credit card if you are paying via that mechanism,
  • You have followed the payment instructions if you are paying via EFT.
  • You have given us permission to provide your personal information to DPO Paygate – our third party payment provider to perform any transaction, secure your information and authenticate the transaction.

HOME CORP will e-mail you confirmation that your order has been received. The e-mail will detail the products and services you have ordered. This communication does not present any acceptance of your order, and we are not legally obliged to provide products and services to you until the goods are dispatched. Products and services on the same order that have not been dispatched do not constitute part of the contract.

Your transactions may be scrutinised in order to protect both parties’ interests. Any suspicious transaction will be refused by HOME CORP. Only the methods of payment stated on the HOME CORP website will be accepted.

Orders will not be accepted if Home Corp identifies an obvious error in the Selling Price and/or descriptions of products or services.

All prices displayed on the website are valid and effective only in the specified country for the day that they are viewed. HOME CORP reserves the right, without prior notice, to discontinue the product or change pricing or specifications of products and services offered on this website without incurring any liability whatsoever.

Stock availability cannot be guaranteed, and HOME CORP will make every effort to source stock where possible for an order. In the event that an item is not in stock, HOME CORP will make every reasonable effort to contact the customer based on information captured at registration. In the event that HOME CORP cannot supply each and every item ordered or meet the required quantities from the order and the customer cannot be contacted, the customer agrees to accept delivery and make payment for the items correctly delivered.

All prices listed on the website are Valued Added Tax (VAT) inclusive. Special Promotions may be subject to special terms and conditions.

Before goods are delivered or an order is confirmed, HOME CORP will be entitled to;

  • Debit the bank payment card supplied by you on confirmation of the order or,
  • Should you wish to pay by EFT, only accept and process the order upon confirmation that the funds have been received.

Goods will remain the property of HOME CORP until payment has been received in full. Payment of the full value is required before HOME CORP will deliver any goods or services or authorize collection.

If partial payment is made on an order placed on the HOME CORP website and the remaining balance is not paid, after 30 days notification by staff from the HOME CORP branch, HOME CORP reserves the right to cancel the order and sell the products to someone else.

HOME CORP will make every reasonable effort to ensure your transactions and banking information is kept secure. Where your issuing bank supports the technology, HOME CORP will use fraud screening and 3D Secure to mitigate the risk of fraudulent transactions.

Any person or persons purchasing a TV or any appliance with a built in TV must have a valid up to date TV license in accordance with the laws of the applicable country. The HOME CORP branch will contact you for further details when you have placed and paid for your order.

All goods listed on the website are subject to availability, and will only be delivered within Gauteng province in areas determined by HOME CORP, unless explicitly otherwise stated. Available delivery areas are identified at the checkout process when the delivery address is entered, and it remains the responsibility of the customer to ensure the delivery address, including suburb and postal code, are correct. Delivery fees will be charged to customers. The delivery fee is calculated based on the delivery address and is at the discretion of HOME CORP. HOME CORP will make every effort to ensure all goods are delivered within the agreed delivery period. While we will make our best effort to deliver on time, the delivery date and time is subject to prevailing circumstances and may vary.

Delivery time slots are available Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 17:00 and Saturday between 09:00 and 13:00. A HOME CORP branch will contact you to arrange for a suitable delivery time.

For deliveries outside our designated zones, please contact our branch and/or call centre to assist.
We kindly request that you make arrangements to ensure that you or an authorised representative, who has access to the premise, is present to receive the order at the pre-agreed time and location.

Any person other than yourself who receives the products at the delivery address is presumed to be authorised to accept delivery on your behalf. In the event that nobody is present at the delivery address to receive the goods, the order will be returned to HOME CORP and you will be notified accordingly. The delivery contractor will then attempt to contact you to arrange an alternative delivery date. HOME CORP reserves the right to charge an additional delivery charge, should the circumstances require this.

For collection of goods from a HOME CORP store or at our Distribution Centre, prior arrangements and notice is required.

Should you wish to have your order collected on your behalf, the person collecting the order will be required to produce a form of identification (ID Document, driver’s license, passport, national identity card), along with a letter from the person who placed the order and whose name appears on the invoice and order documentation.

Goods may be removed from original packaging, replaced in the packaging and sealed, prior to the delivery taking place. This is done to inspect the condition of the goods before delivery. Upon delivery you or the authorized person will be required to sign documentation confirming that you have received the goods in good condition. You are responsible for inspecting the goods on delivery and ensuring that nothing has been damaged in the delivery process.

Please note that if you selected the “in-store collection” option, you can only collect the goods at the store selected and during the confirmed collection dates and times.

You will receive e-mail notifications updating you on the status of your order. We will confirm via e-mail that your order has been received, and provide an indication of when to expect delivery of your order or when your goods can be collected from the selected store. You will also receive communication from the HOME CORP branch confirming that your goods are ready to be delivered. You will be contacted via telephone to schedule the delivery of goods.

Home Corp strives to ensure that you are completely happy with the products and services you purchased. Should you not be completely satisfied with our products or services, please adhere to the refunds and exchanges policy.

We do not accept refunds and exchanges for software packages. On other products, services, promotions or any other circumstances where the refunds and exchanges policy does not apply, this shall be explicitly stated.

If you return any item that does not comply with the returns policy, you may be liable to reimburse HOME CORP the cost of collecting and returning the item to you.

Please note all refunds will be in a format decided upon by HOME CORP. No refund will be processed until the payment is reflected in HOME CORP’s bank account. This may take up to seven (7) days in some instances.

Please note that HOME CORP will only collect goods for refund or exchange if you have made use of our delivery services. The delivery of goods for exchanges or refunds is the responsibility of the customer if you collected the goods from us initially. HOME CORP will levy a charge if we are required to collect the goods from you if the goods were collected from the branch initially.

If you are not completely satisfied with your product(s), HOME CORP will exchange the product(s) or refund your money, provided the following conditions are met;

  1. The products are returned within seven (7) days of purchase.
  2. The original receipt is supplied.
  3. The product remains unused, and is in original condition and packaging.

When your product is still under supplier guarantee and the goods are: defective, of reasonably unsatisfactory quality, cannot be used for the intended purpose, not durable for a reasonable period of time and/or not in good working order, you can contact Home Corp to assist you. Home Corp will repair your product

It is your responsibility and the responsibility of the person receiving the order/delivery to inspect the goods and not accept the goods if;

  • Home Corp mistakenly delivers the wrong product,
  • The product delivered is not as described on the website.

Our delivery contractor will return with the product or collect the product at no charge to you. Once we have inspected the product and validated your return, Home Corp will either deliver the correct product (dependent on stock availability) or credit your account with the purchase price of the product.

Bundle deals refer to goods that either you or us (as provided on our website) have combined together in a single bundle. We will accept return of the entire bundles at the original purchase price, given all other terms and conditions of the policy are met. Should you wish to return a single item from the bundle, we will refund you the actual purchase price (after applying any applicable savings or discount) you paid for such a product as displayed in your order history.

Pre-packaged bundles refer to bundles compiled by suppliers. Pre-packaged bundles will only be accepted if all the items/products are returned to us. Failure to do so may result in us declining the return of the pre-packaged bundle.
Partial returns

In the event that you fail to return all the accessories or parts of a defective product, we are entitled (subject to applicable law) to reject the request to exchange the product, and only replace the item that you did return, or estimate the value of the missing parts and accessories and only refund you for the returned items.
